The first night we will enjoy an included dinner in Bedford, Pa. The next morning, after breakfast, we will depart for Mount Vernon, home of George Washington.

We will be spending two nights in the Washington D.C. area. A step-on-guide will join us for a tour of the city.  We should see the famous monuments of D.C; The Jefferson, Lincoln, Washington, FDR, and World War II Memorials, the White House, the Capitol Building, Supreme Court Building, and many other interesting historical sites.  Part of a day is set aside to explore some of the fourteen museums of the Smithsonian Institute. A night tour will be offered to visit some of the sights under the lights. Included will be Iwo Jima, Vietnam and Korean monuments.
As you depart Washington, D. C. a stop will be made at Arlington Cemetery, where you can visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the JFK site, and the Curtis Mansion, home of Robert E. Lee. The Women’s Memorial is also located at Arlington. After leaving Arlington, we will make a stop in Gettysburg. Included lunch will be at General Pickett’s. A step-on-guide will provide an informative tour of the Battlefield.
On the way home a stop will be made at the Flight 93 Memorial.

  St. Charles is a charming picturesque town located along the Fox River about an hour west of Chicago. Its claim to fame is the “Scarecrow Festival” held each year on the first weekend in October.  You will disembark the motorcoach at the main entrance to the festival and have the day to explore the many attractions. 
The highlight of the festival is the Scarecrow Exhibit featuring hundreds of handcrafted scarecrows.  Be sure also to attend the autumn on the Fox Arts and Craft show.
